On God’s love
My therapist encouraged me to create a statement of faith to determine what I value and where I stand spiritually. I’m not sure of a lot right now, but I do believe that God loves me unconditionally.
This means that, according to 1 Corinthians 13:4-8…
- God is patient with me and kind to me.
- God isn’t rude or easily angered.
- God doesn’t tally up every way I’ve messed up.
- God always protects me, trusts me to live up to my calling, hopes that I’ll do the right thing, and won’t give up on me.
- God never fails.
According to Romans 8:37-39, God won’t let anything change the way he perceives me, including my future mistakes.
According to Zephaniah 3:17, God delights in me.
According to 1 John 3:1, God calls me his child.
I’m sure I’ll add to this as I move forward with building a sturdy spiritual foundation, but this is a good starting point. And something I needed to hear today.
teacher: alright, since no one is raising their hands i’m gonna pick people
me:
it’s just me and my stupid little fantasies against the world
